Home About PAEC

ProActive Energy Concepts was formed to improve energy efficiencies through the creation, manufacturing and installation of innovative window inserts and unique skylights in our nation’s homes and buildings. Through its patented and patent- pending window insulating insert products; PAEC will create reliable, affordable and inventive solutions that will reduce utility costs by up to 15-40 percent.

A Brief History:

In 2003, Terry Johnson, an enterprising inventor, created a remarkable new window insert capable of reducing the energy needed for buildings. In April of 2005, Mr. Johnson was issued a patent for his innovation (# 6877286). He started, Clearview Window Inserts LLC, and took on a group of seed capital investors, to start manufacturing and marketing this product. A manufacturing plant was built and production began. The investor group proved to be the wrong players, and the lack of preparation, coupled with poor management lead to the company’s demise.

However, before being disbanded they managed to take in over $60,000 in revenue in their first 6 months from residential window insert sales. They were simply not ready to handle the volume their initial marketing efforts produced. Faced with a 3-month backlog, the company imploded under the weight of its own success.  Kevin Pearson met Mr. Johnson in November 2007, and decided to reincarnate the window insert business. Only this time, Mr. Pearson would hand-select the right management team, attract the right funding partners and faithfully execute a marketing and business plan. Unwilling to make the same mistakes twice, Mr. Johnson removed himself from the management equation.

In May 2008, Mr. Pearson brought Dan Shepard into the company, bringing a wealth of management and logistics knowledge to the table. The patent was purchased by MBSB Technologies, a holding company created only to acquire the window patent. MBSB Technologies is comprised of four partners, who would ultimately create ProActive Energy Concepts, LLC.

Incorporated in Utah as an LLC, to take advantage of favorable tax treatment, flexible management structure and ease of operation, PAEC was formed on August 8, 2008. Bringing the deep experience and backgrounds of four individuals with the singular mission to introduce a simple solution to the complex world of energy depletion, PAEC personnel have proven themselves in similar industries including manufacturing technology, hydrogen fuel cell utilization, logistics, consulting, and management.  Headquartered in Ogden, Utah, PAEC maintains a lean office with an efficient team of professionals to propel our operations forward. In March of 2009, PAEC signed a 5-year lease for a 7,900 square foot facility located at 950 West Kershaw, Ogden Utah. This will serve as our administration offices, manufacturing and storage facility.

Over time PAEC intends to introduce additional product lines, pursue additional innovative technologies, and enter international markets. We intend to become widely recognized as the industry leader in energy-efficient windows. At this time we do not anticipate a public offering.
